SourceRE Announces Partnership with Three MLSs in South Carolina

By SourceRE | February 25, 2025

Denver, Colorado - SourceRE is thrilled to announce a partnership with Coastal Carolinas MLS, Greater Greenville MLS, and Lowcountry Regional MLS. Through SourceRE, they will establish a shared independent database to power a new regional datashare and data distribution network.

The SourceRE installation will unify the three MLSs’ data dictionaries and business rule sets into a central compilation, compliant with the RESO Data Dictionary 2.0 standard. This will give the MLSs immediate control over their data and rules, allowing them to maintain or create new partnerships with any front-end vendor capable of adhering to the new API documentation.

There are several phases ahead to ensure a seamless implementation, including business rule audits by Ocusell to support the business rule consolidation efforts. In the spring, the SourceRE technical teams will provide the new API documentation to current vendors.

“Partnerships like this are a growing trend among progressive MLSs seeking greater control of how their data is managed and monetized,” said Bill Fowler, President of SourceRE. “By uniting under a common vision, critical decisions about vendor relationships, data distribution, and establishing a choice-driven environment are within reach for broker members of these MLSs in South Carolina.”

"The creation of a shared database creates an ecosystem where brokers can collaborate more effectively, access a broader range of data, streamline operations, and deliver superior service to their clients. It offers benefits of increased exposure for listings, cost savings, and improved data quality, all of which contribute to efficiency and market positioning. These benefits help brokers stay competitive in an evolving market while offering higher value to clients, ultimately contributing to their success and profitability.” stated Laura Crowther, CEO at Coastal Carolinas Association of REALTORS®.

“This partnership is a transformative milestone for MLS collaboration in South Carolina. By uniting three leading MLS organizations under one independent, shared database, we’re creating a more innovative, efficient, and data-driven environment for our Participants & Subscribers. This collaborative effort not only streamlines operations and strengthens data integrity but also paves the way for rapid adaptation to industry changes—ultimately benefiting both real estate professionals and the clients they serve.” said Janet Gresham, CEO of Beaufort-Jasper County REALTORS® and Lowcountry Regional MLS.

“We are excited to announce the launch of this new regional shared database initiative that will provide seamless integration from diverse data sources and formats. This new shared database represents a major step forward in enhancing collaboration and accessibility within the real estate community,” stated Chris Bailey, CEO at Greater Greenville Association of REALTORS®.  “Brokers and agents will gain a heightened level of access to real-time, comprehensive listings, empowering them to better serve their clients. This partnership strengthens our commitment to fostering innovation and improving our service to members and the consumer.”

“This partnership is a perfect example of forward-thinking MLSs coming together to take charge of their future,” said Andrew Coca, CEO of Modern.tech, parent company of SourceRE. “We built SourceRE to alleviate the complexities of MLS growth and consolidation initiatives, and we can’t wait to support these MLSs as they drive the industry forward.”
